KEYWORDS ABOUT THE FEMICIDE
CHLAMYDIA : a sexually transmitted disease that is being diagnosed in women reporting to the Panzi hospital because of sexual torture and rape.
MAI-MAI : a group of warriors from the Kivu region. They have been resisting invasions in the Kivu since the 60s. In their beliefs, a bullet shot on them melts into water when it hits them. (the word Mai means Water). Their charms forbid them to steal or get in contact with women. True Mai-Mai would not even accept a cup of water handed by a woman. She would have to put it on something for them to pick up. Many other groups have called themselves Mai-Mai with to gain on the reputation of resistants but they have not being respectful of the Mai-Mai rules : no rape, no stealing. When did it start ?
