KEYWORDS ABOUT THE FEMICIDE

CHLAMYDIA : a sexually transmitted disease that is being diagnosed in women reporting to the Panzi hospital because of sexual torture and rape.
The bacteria of Chlamydia causes sterility in women and usually can only be detected when it has spread and damaged the woman's reproductive organs.

MAI-MAI : a group of warriors from the Kivu region. They have been resisting invasions in the Kivu since the 60s. In their beliefs, a bullet shot on them melts into water when it hits them. (the word Mai means Water). Their charms forbid them to steal or get in contact with women. True Mai-Mai would not even accept a cup of water handed by a woman. She would have to put it on something for them to pick up. Many other groups have called themselves Mai-Mai with to gain on the reputation of resistants but they have not being respectful of the Mai-Mai rules : no rape, no stealing.
